Schedules

It is often necessary to establish a schedule for our players, especially if the broadcast of our circuit is conditioned by the business or opening hours of our establishment. It is also a good way to limit the performance of our players to what strictly corresponds to the audience hours of our audience. Finally, we must bear in mind that some functions of the platform will make use of the hours assigned to our players.

How to assign schedules

To assign a previously created schedule, from the list of schedules click on players and/or screens and select the one that interests you in each case from the “Choose schedule” combo. As in the case of the screens, it is also possible to add exceptions to the players (eg Behave like Saturday) individually or click on the “Distribution of exceptions” button to carry out a multiple distribution according to the list of criteria assigned to the players.

Schedule distribution

In addition to adding schedules individually, it is also possible to carry out a multiple distribution by selecting the type of device and the corresponding criteria tags (click on “Distribution of schedules from the list of schedules”).

Using schedules in the Platform

Below we are going to see some examples of platform functions that make use of the schedules assigned to our players.

Tasks according to schedules

We can program alerts that send a notification or email when, for example, a player is offline, the screen is off, etc. These alerts can be programmed so that they take into account the schedule assigned to the player, with the aim of only receiving notices during the hours that the teams must be broadcasting.

Content distribution

In Advanced Mode (player automatically) the playlist will be generated according to the schedule assigned to the player. In the Schedules section, different broadcast slots can be created, so that transitional content is broadcast outside of this. The objective is to be able to generate accurate broadcast reports (hourly passes of content), knowing how many times a content or advertising campaign has been broadcast without including hours in which the point of sale is not open to the public. In simple mode, the player’s schedule does not condition the emission of the assigned playlist.

Auto power off

You can also program the player so that it turns off automatically outside of the broadcast schedule assigned to it. To activate it, go to Inventory / Player Configuration and activate the Automatic shutdown option. This functionality is available for Windows and Linux.
