Introduction

This document describes Admira’s recommended procedure for installing Admira Player on Philips displays with embedded Android OS.

Initial setup

When turning on the screen, we will select the system language:

Next, within the “Signage screen configuration” section, we choose “Manual configuration”:

In case the screen must be configured by Wi-Fi, the section to configure the wireless network will appear below:

The rest of the settings that require configuration can be omitted since they will not affect the final configuration of the system.

Access to Android menu

In order to access the Philips Android System, we perform the following combination of buttons on the remote: “Home + 1888”.

Once located in the Android menu, we enter the “Apps” submenu, within the menu we will locate the “Chromium” application.

Once inside the Chromium browser, we look for the following URL:

http://install.admira.com/android/ARM-A22.04.01.apk

We download and install the application, we authorize the permissions you require during the process if necessary.

Once the application is installed, we can proceed to open it from the screen that is displayed below, or we will also find it in the “Apps” menu with the name of “Admira Player”.

Once the application is executed, we will be able to register the Player in the Admira Platform.

Additional configuration in Admira Platform

Once the screen is registered, an additional configuration must be carried out.

This configuration is necessary so that the Player does not emit black between contents.

Quality Master Poster

The first thing we must do is create the “Master Poster” quality, to do this, we will access the “Qualities” section, within the “Production” menu.

Within the “Qualities” menu, we will create a new quality by clicking on the “+” button located in the upper right corner, and we will access the creation window, where we will copy the following settings:

Once the settings have been copied, we will click on Save and we will have already created the custom quality.

Assign Quality to Player

To assign our already created quality, we will access the “Inventory” section, within the “Distribution” menu.

Within Inventory, we will look for our Player and access the “Settings” menu.

Once inside the Configuration menu, we will click on the pencil button located in the upper right corner to edit, we will go down to the “VIDEO” section and copy the following settings:

  • Apply the “MASTER POSTER” quality.

  • Make sure the “Full Screen” checkbox is checked.

  • Activate the “Deblocking” option.

  • In the “Smoothing Options” dropdown, select “Smoothing ON”.

Once all the changes have been made in the Platform and the Player has been updated, it is necessary to RESTART the screen so that the configuration is applied to the player on the computer.
